Hi, I’m Julia. I write and edit.
While you may have a real estate license, a med-school degree, or the ability to make a mouth-watering, organic hot sauce, I have a bachelor’s in Communication, and I know how to use it.
I’ve written and edited everything from feature articles to websites. I started in newsrooms and went on to spend almost a decade at Seattle Pacific University as the editor of etc magazine (now SPU Voices). I also managed all undergraduate admissions marketing pieces, videos, and web-copy. I won several CASE awards every year for undergraduate materials. More importantly, enrollment increased steadily over that time, and students often told me that the magazine was the reason they chose SPU.
I moved to San Diego in 2015, and often met business professionals who didn't know how to talk about their brand in a way that won fans and customers. I started to take on more projects for businesses, and haven’t looked back.
I have three young kids and a husband, and we call San Diego home. Although I love surf, sun, and succulents, my native land is the moss-covered Pacific Northwest. Down here, I seem to be the only gal at the pool without a proper hat and sunglasses. And when it’s less than 80-degrees, I’m simply the only gal in the pool.
Entrepreneurs and business owners like you happen to be my favorite type of client. You work hard, take risks, and improve lives with your products and services.
